For an Appetizer or Bento Dish Wasabi & Cheese Chinese Cabbage Meat Rolls

The rich flavor of the cheese with the wasabi bite is so delicious Plus, this just takes 2 minutes in the microwave! I made this for my husband's bento.

Ingredients: 8 rolls

Chinese cabbage
1/8
Thinly sliced pork
8 slices
Processed cheese
2
Wasabi paste (tubed)
to taste
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Sake
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Roughly cut the Chinese cabbage to about 2 cm wide pieces, sprinkle with a little bit of salt (not listed), and rub it in gently. Set aside. When it has become tender, rinse with running water and wring it out.
2. Spread out the pork and use a spoon to spread on some wasabi. Cut the cheese into 4 pieces and place on the pork. Place some cabbage on top of the cheese and roll up the meat.

4. When you've finished rolling, place in a heat-resistant dish with the seam side down. Pour sake over the meat and lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. Lightly cover with plastic wrap and microwave (500 W) for 2 minutes.
