Comforting Kabocha and Bacon Hot Salad

Comforting Kabocha and Bacon Hot Salad

The sweet flavor of kabocha squash works brilliantly with the salty taste of bacon.
This is a hot salad seasoned with garlic that's tasty even when it's chilled.

Ingredients: Serves 2

Kabocha squash
200 g
50 g
2 slices
1 clove
GABAN dressing, Garlic Pepper (or use any garlic-flavored dressing)
1 tablespoon or more
Olive oil
as needed
Salt and pepper
as needed
Black pepper
to taste
as needed (if you have any)

1. Chop the kabocha into bite-sized pieces and boil or microwave until soft.
2. Mince the garlic, slice the onion thinly, and chop the bacon into 2cm pieces.
3. Heat some olive oil in a frying pan and fry the garlic until it releases aroma. Add the bacon and cook over a low heat until the bacon releases some grease.
4. Add onion and fry until soft. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and black pepper.
5. Add kabocha and stir-fry. Add the GABAN dressing and mix thoroughly. I listed 1 tablespoon, but adjust the amount to your liking.
6. Transfer onto a plate and enjoy. Top with parsely if you wish.

Story Behind this Recipe

I used dressing for the seasoning and found it works well for stir-fried dishes. That's how I made this super-easy and appetizing hot salad.
