Wiener Sausage Bread

For bite-sized, fluffy wiener sausage bread.

Ingredients: 12 pieces

Bread dough
Standard bread dough (side dish made from shortening)

Cheese (easy melting type)
Roughly 2 teaspoons
Mayonnaise
If you like it, use a lot!
Parsley
a small amount
Egg for the finish

Steps

1. Make the bread dough. Let it rise. (About 30 minutes)
2. Quickly boil the wiener sausages.
3. Divide the dough, punch down the dough, round the portions, and let rest (about 15 minutes).
4. Press gently with your fingers, then roll out with a rolling pin (to about the width of the sausages).
5. Wrap the wiener up in the dough.
6. Cut into 3 pieces with a knife.
7. Arrange the pieces in foil with the inner sections on top.
8. Let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).
9. Brush with egg wash, and add the toppings (mayonnaise, cheese).
10. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 13~15 minutes.
11. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with parsley. You can also top with ketchup.
12. When reheating, remove the foil, wrap in plastic, and heat in the microwave for about 20 seconds (500 W). Then they'll taste as if they're fresh out of the oven.

14. I baked the dough as a log, omitting Step 6 (I added ketchup on top).

Story Behind this Recipe

This is my family's favorite snack bread. My kids love to eat wiener sausage bread or even just wieners, so I made this bite-sized version.
