Easy and Delicious Holiday Roast Chicken

Bone-in chicken is hard to cook through and hard to absorb the flavor, but I will teach you how to make an easy and delicious roast chicken without an oven.


Bone-in chicken thighs
★Grated apple and onion
1/3 each
★Red wine or sake
200 ml
★Honey or sugar
50 ml (4 tablespoons sugar)
★Soy sauce
40 ml
★Garlic and ginger
1 clove and 1 thumb (to your liking)
4 tablespoons
Water (for simmering the chicken)
about 300 ml


1. Prepare the ingredients. Grate the apple, onion, garlic, and ginger, then mix with the ★ seasonings.
2. Pierce the bone-in chicken thigh with a fork to let it absorb the flavor.
3. Add the ★ mixture, and enough water to cover the meat to a pot. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove the lid, and simmer until almost all the liquid is gone.
4. They are all cooked through, so you can eat as is. But it will be great to sear the surface on a fish grill, which adds a nice fragrance.
