An Easy Tomato Dish Multi-National Salad

An Easy Tomato Dish Multi-National Salad

A surprising combination that works very well. Please enjoy the delicious flavors of tomatoes, cheese and nori seaweed.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Cheese (Processed, sliced, cream cheese or whatever type you like)
3 slices (about 30 g)
Nori seaweed
3 small pieces
2 teaspoons
Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon

1. Cut the tomato into 2-3 cm pieces. Put in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar. If the tomatoes aren't very sweet, add extra sugar.
2. Add the sesame oil to the bowl and mix, then add the ponzu sauce and mix again. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour.
3. Cut the cheese into 5cm pieces, and the nori into thin strips.
4. Add the cheese just before serving and mix. Transfer to serving plates, top with nori seaweed, and enjoy.

Story Behind this Recipe

An izakaya (Japanese gastropub) I used to go to used to serve a salad with the same combination of ingredients. They no longer exist...but I made my own version using flavors that I think taste best.
It uses Japanese (nori and ponzu), Italian (cheese and tomato) and..Korean? Chinese? (sesame oil) ingredients, so I'm calling it multinational.
