Boil hot water in a pot with some salt and add the cucumbers, but their color will soon change to a vivid green. Remove them from the hot water and put into cold water to so they keep their vivid color.
Boil the potatoes and the carrots with the same pan you used to boil the cucumber. Slice the cucumber and carrots and sprinkle a pinch of salt and let sit for 10 minutes.
The key to making a professional tasting potato salad is to add french dressing.
Mix all the ★ ingredients to make the French dressing.
Mash the boiled potatoes while they're still hot using something like a masher then let cool.
Next, squeeze any leftover moisture from the vegetables then combine with ham or bacon and mayonnaise. Mix all together.
Mix it enough so the mayo is spread throughout.
Here is the trick the pros use! Add french dressing to the potato salad mixed with mayonnaise. See!? It's so delicious, right?
