Sesame and Miso Tonkatsu Sauce

Even my husband, who doesn't like miso cutlets, loves this sauce. Everyday tonkatsu seem to taste more delicious than usual.

Ingredients: 2 to 4 servings

Miso (I use a cheap miso with dashi from Marukome)
2 1/2 tablespoons
Water (plus dashi stock granules if the miso doesn't have dashi in it)
50 ml
1 1/2 tablespoons
1 1/2 tablespoons
Ground sesame seeds
To taste


1. Bring the mirin to a boil in a frying pan. Add the miso, sugar, and dashi stock or water, and simmer over low heat until thickened. Throw in the ground sesame seeds and that's it.
