Easy and Authentic Okinawan Taco Rice

You can make it sweet or hot according to the chilli sauce you use. It is very nutritious.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Mixed minced meat or minced beef
170 g
Onion
1/2
Garlic
2 cloves
★Japanese-style Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon
★Sweet chilli sauce
2 tablespoons
★Ketchup
2 tablespoons
★Sugar
1 teaspoon
Lettuce
3 leaves
Tomato
1/2
Easy melting cheese
2 slices
Eggs
2
Nutmeg
to taste

Steps

1. Mince the onion and garlic. Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry until cooked.
2. Stir in the minced meat and fry until browned. Sprinkle in the nutmeg and add the ★ ingredients. Mix all together.
3. Place a slice of cheese (without cutting it) over cooked rice. Microwave at 500 W for 30 seconds to melt the cheese. Top the melted cheese with the mixture from Step 2.
4. Place the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a fried egg on top. Serve with ketchup to taste.

Story Behind this Recipe

I have tried to make taco rice several times. I place a fried egg on top like a Loco Moco dish. I call this 'taco rice' since this rice is topped with taco filling. You can make this dish easily with the ingredients you usually have in your fridge.
