Daigaku-imo Style Sweet and Sour Kabocha Squash

Delicious kabocha cooked like daigaku-imo (deep-fried and caramelized sweet potatoes).

Ingredients: 4 servings

Kabocha squash
about 1/4
Vegetable oil
1 and 1/2 tablespoon
◆ Honey
1 and 1/2 tablespoon
◆ Soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon
to taste
Roasted sesame seeds (black)
to taste


1. Chop kabocha into 1 and 1/2 cm slices.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan, and fry the kabocha until the flesh is crisp and brown.
3. Lightly sprinkle salt, combine the ingredients marked with ◆, and coat the kabocha slices in the sauce. Sprinkle with black sesame seeds, and serve.
