Komatsuna and Wasabi with Soy Sauce

Komatsuna and Wasabi with Soy Sauce

I microwaved the komatsuna, then tossed it with wasabi, soy sauce, and sesame oil. It's an easy side dish.

Ingredients: 2 servings

1/2 bunch
Wasabi, tubed
1 cm (1/2 teaspoon)
Soy sauce
A scant tablespoon
Ground sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
Sesame oil
A scant tablespoon

1. Chop off the roots, rinse well, then microwave for about 2 minutes in a heat-resistant dish.
2. Rinse with cold water, then thoroughly squeeze out excess water.
3. Dissolve the wasabi into the soy sauce, then mix with komatsuna. Mix in sesame oil, then serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

I came up with this easy way to eat komatsuna! This dish has a rich taste different from a wasabi marinade or boiled komatsuna. The wasabi and sesame oil give a nice accent, and the stalks are crisp and delicious.
