Oil-Free Pound Cake with Whey

This is a surprisingly fluffy cake with whey leftover from strained yogurt.


Pancake mix
200 g
Whey from drained yogurt
150~200 ml
80 g


1. Line the cake pan with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 170°C.
2. Lightly beat the eggs. Add the sugar and mix until thick and stiff peaks form.
3. Add the whey and mix well.
4. Add the pancake mix and mix until no longer powdery. Don't over-mix. You can combine the ingredients with a whisk.
5. Pour into the cake pan and bake in an oven preheated to 170°C for about 40 minutes.
6. When a toothpick or skewer inserted in the center comes out clean, it's done! Once cooled, cut into pieces. You'll be surprised with how fluffy it is.
7. I added some cocoa powder and baked it in a 20 x 20 cm pan.
