Teriyaki Pork Shiso and Mentaiko Rolls

This goes so well with rice. The green shiso leaves and mentaiko are so tasty!

Ingredients: 2 servings

Thinly sliced pork leg
10 slices
Shiso leaves
10 leaves
1/2 sac
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Plain flour
as needed
Vegetable oil
1 and 1/2 tablespoons
◆ Soy sauce
3 tablespoons
◆ Mirin
2 tablespoons
◆ Sugar
1 tablespoon


1. Season just one side of the pork slices lightly with salt and pepper. Turn the meat over, put on a shiso leaf and spread some mentaiko on it with a spoon. Roll up diagonally, and dust lightly with flour.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the meat rolls seam-side down. When that side has browned, roll them around to brown on all sides.
3. Add the combined ◆ ingredients, roll the rolls around to coat in the sauce, and they are done.

Deep fried meat rolls may be more popular, but I don't like deep fried foods so I just pan-fry them.
