Simple and Delicious! Seared Bonito and Beef

This is a light and simple seared bonito and beef dish. It's really great when you have people over for dinner!

Ingredients

Beef rump toast that can be seared, or bonito fish cuts
As desired (shown in the photo is 500 g beef rump roast)
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste
♦︎Japanese-Style Garlic Dressing
A. Onion (thinly sliced)
1/3-1/2
A. Grated or sliced garlic
As desired (it tastes good loaded with garlic)
A. Soy sauce
50 ml
A. Mirin
25 ml
A. Sake
25 ml

Steps

1. If you are going to eat this with the Japanese-style garlic dressing, then place all of the A ingredients into a small pot, bring to a boil, and let sit to cool.
2. Knead an appropriate amount of salt and pepper into the bonito or beef.
3. Thoroughly cook the surface of the meat on a grill or in a frying pan.
4. I sear mine with a torch. Please use a torch to sear the meat if you have one. It's really convenient.
5. Let sit until cool after searing the surface. Please remove it from the pan if you cooked the meat in a frying pan.
6. Wrap a cooled Step 5 in plastic wrap, and chill in the fridge. Cut before serving, top with ketchup and onions, and it is done.
7. Top it off with "Japanese-style garlic dressing" or "Home-made Yukhoe dressing," and enjoy. They both go well with seared meat.
8. This is a dish that I covered with the Japanese-style garlic dressing. I recommend doing this for seared meat dishes.
9. Recipe ID: 2306553 shows you how you'd prepare homemade yukhoe dressing.
10. This is Jojoen Ugentei's "Rare Steak with Yukhoe Dressing." It's really tasty to eat it like this.
