Shishito Peppers and Chikuwa Fish Sticks Stir Fried in Spicy Sweet Miso

The spiciness of the ichimi spice with the sweet miso sauce mixes with the shishito peppers and chikuwa for a delicious dish. It's great in bentos too.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Shishito peppers
1 pack (about 30)
Chikuwa

★Miso
1 tablespoon
★Sugar
1 tablespoon
★Mirin
2 teaspoons
★Ichimi red chili pepper powder
to taste
White sesame seeds
to taste
Sesame oil
1 teaspoon

Steps

1. Take the stems off the shishito peppers and rinse quickly. Cut the chikuwa into 2-3mm slices. Combine the ★ ingredients.
2. Heat a small pan and add sesame oil. Stir fry the chikuwa, then add the shishito peppers and continue stir frying.
3. Stir fry over low-medium heat slowly until browned, then add the combined ★ ingredients and continue cooking. Add the sesame seeds, mix through, and it's done.
