Italian Dish Made with Dried Whole Sardines

Italian Dish Made with Dried Whole Sardines

Since they are already salted, you don't need much seasoning. You only need dried basil and olive oil.

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

Dried whole sardines
1 pack (8 sardines)
Dried basil
for sprinkling on the sardines
Olive oil
as needed

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the dried whole sardines, and sprinkle with dried basil.
2. I also used bite-sized potatoes, peppers, and cherry tomatoes this time.
3. Swirl in olive oil at the end. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes at 200℃. Make sure that they won't get burnt.
4. Then, you're done. It's really tasty to tear apart the cherry tomatoes and eat them with sardines and other vegetables.

Story Behind this Recipe

Dried whole sardines are inexpensive, but my kids wouldn't eat them if I just baked them in the oven, so I tried something new.
