Okra & Tomato Soup with Refreshing Vinegar

This is a refreshing soup with vinegar. There's ginger too. Bacon is added increase the umami.

Ingredients: 2 servings

The main ingredients:
1 slice
to taste
The soup:
◆Chicken stock granules
1 tablespoon (around 5-7 g)
400 ml
◆Salt and pepper
a pinch
1 tablespoon
☆Tabasco sauce
As needed


1. ■Sprinkle salt on a cutting board and rub the okra in salt. Remove the stems and cut into round slices. Beat the egg.
2. Cut the onion, tomato, and bacon into 1 cm. Grate the ginger. You'll need about 1/2 teaspoon.
3. Add the ◆ soup ingredients to a pot and bring to a boil. Add the bacon, onion, and okra. There will be some scum, so skim off carefully.
4. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil. Add a small amount of Tabasco sauce.
5. While the soup is simmering, add the beaten egg a little at a time, using chopsticks to mix. Heat the soup once more, and it's done.
6. I like spicy flavors, so I add more Tabasco sauce before eating.

I wanted to make a soup that would go well with summer dishes.
Okra and tomato are at their peak in the summer!
