Cardamon Tea ~ Indian Chai

Chai is a drink that is usually served to guests in India. It's great for refreshing yourself. It will revive your spirits as well as your body.

Ingredients: 3 cups full. All measurements are in level spoonfuls

500 ml
100 ml
2 tablespoons
2 whole, or 1/2 teaspoon powdered


1. Crush the whole cardamons lightly with the side of a knife.
2. Put the cardamon and water in a pan and bring to a boil.
3. When the water is boiling, add the tea bags.
4. When the tea has been extracted, add the milk.
5. When the milk tea comes to a boil and is foaming, turn off the heat before it boils over. Add the sugar and mix to dissolve. Strain the milk tea through a tea strainer into cups.
6. Done. Enjoy while piping hot.
7. This is how whole cardamons look when they are crushed lightly with the side of a knife.

At my family's home in India, this tea is often served to guests. I've been drinking ginger chai a lot recently, so I made this for the first time in a while. It is wonderfully fragrant, so it's n ideal tea for refreshing you body and soul.
