Cheesy Chikuwa Fried Isobe-Style

Cheesy Chikuwa Fried Isobe-Style

This is cheesy chikuwa fried isobe style. It is fried in bite-sized pieces, so add it to your bento or enjoy as a beer snack.

Ingredients: 2 sticks of chikuwa

Sliced cheese
1-2 slices
Tempura flour
2 tablespoons
1 1/2 tablespoons before and after
1/2 teaspoon
a small amount
Frying oil
as needed

1. Cut the cheese into approximate sizes. Cut the chikuwa in half and stuff the cheese inside. Cut it in half again.
2. Mix the tempura flour, water, aonori, and salt together. Coat the chikuwa from Step 1 in the mixture, and quickly fry them up over a medium~high heat.
3. They are done once you drain the grease. Enjoy it together with Cheese IN Chikuwa Fried Yukari Japanese Basil (Recipe ID: 865876).
4. Using the leftover batter to make delicious veggie fritters with no wasted materials.
5. This is the second in my series. I also recommend Cheesy Chikuwa Fried in Curry (Recipe ID: 1645194).

Story Behind this Recipe

I added my children's favorite cheese to their favorite chikuwa, and turned it into Isobe Age.
