Pork Wrap with Shiso Leaves and Cheese

Pork Wrap with Shiso Leaves and Cheese

Unfortunately, it didn't win the contest, but I still recommend this cheesy wrap that's so soft and filling!

Ingredients: 3 to 4 servings

Thinly sliced pork belly
10 slices
Shiso leaves
Sliced cheese
Egg, flour, panko
as needed

1. Here are the 3 ingredients you need.
2. Use pork to wrap up the cheese and shiso leaves. (All you need to do is wrap! Nothing else.) Wrap according to the size of the cheese, rather than making round wraps.
3. This is how it turns out.
4. Dredge with flour, egg, and panko.
5. Heat oil to about 340°F/170°C and deep-fry until golden brown.
6. Voila. Every bite is filled with melting cheese and juicy meat. But the shiso leaves makes them so refreshing! Irresistible!

Story Behind this Recipe

My husband made this along with fried cheese bits. He wasn't too particular about he rolled them up, but the softness and juiciness of the pork worked well anyway. I like this better than round wraps!
