Petit Celery & Cheese Rolls, Surprisingly Delicious!

With the fragrance of celery, the chewiness of cheese, and the kick of black pepper, these bread rolls are really delicious. If you love celery, then please give them a try.

Ingredients: 12 rolls

●Strong bread flour
250 g
●Dried yeast
4 g
10 g

●Milk (room temperature)
100 ml
●Water (room temperature)
70 ml
Celery leaves
1 stalk worth (approximately 25-30 g)
Pizza cheese
50 g
Mayonnaise, black pepper
as needed


1. Finely chop the celery leaves.
2. Add all of the ● ingredients to a bread maker or kneader and let it knead for 20 minutes. (Add the celery leaves once the dough has come together).
4. Add the cheese about 5 minutes before the dough is due to finish kneading. Once it has finished, leave it to prove for 40 minutes.
5. When proved, divide the dough into 12 equal portions of about 40 g each, roll them into balls, and leave to rest for 20 minutes.
6. After 20 minutes, re-shape the dough into balls and leave them to prove for a further 30-40 minutes. Once proved for the second time, score grooves in the tops.
7. Spread a little mayonnaise and sprinkle black pepper on the the tops and bake the rolls at 180°C for 15 minutes.

Story Behind this Recipe

I used some celery stalks in cooking and wondered what to do with the left over leaves. After trying a few recipes, I added it to some bread which came out surprisingly delicious.
