Cabbage Omelet for Bentos

This just uses a single egg, but it's hearty!
Please enjoy in a bento.

Ingredients: 1 serving

1 leaf (large)
Salt and pepper
to taste
Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
to taste


1. Shred the cabbage. Microwave in a container for about 40-50 seconds to soften.
2. Add the egg, salt and pepper and mix together.
3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the egg from Step 2. Make a ditch in the center and drizzle in the sauce.
4. Shape into an omelet and add water to the pan. Cover the pan and steam for about 1-2 minutes (to cook through).
5. Drizzle sauce (about 1 tablespoon) onto the sides of the pan, coat, and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted a satisfying omelet using only a single egg, so I added cabbage to bulk it up.
