French Toast

French Toast

You'll love this French toast topped with ice cream. The egg mixture soaks into the toast and gives it a delicious flavour, even without letting it rest in the fridge.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Sliced bread
3 slices
10 g
300 g
Heavy cream or coffee creamer
2 tablespoons (5 ml x 6)
Vanilla oil or essence
a little
Butter or margarine
5 - 10 g
Maple syrup or honey
as needed
Ice cream
as needed


1. Cut each slice of bread into 6 pieces and set aside. Beat the eggs in a bowl with a whisk, then mix in the sugar, milk, heavy cream and vanilla.
2. Firmly push the bread into the egg mixture so it is covered evenly and completely soaked. Here, you can wrap in plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge if you like.
3. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. When melted, add the bread, turn the heat to low, and bake both sides. Transfer to a serving plate, top with ice, and enjoy.
4. If you want to eat something really sweet, it's nice topped with maple syrup, honey, brown sugar syrup, or jam.
