Italian-Style Oven-Baked Sardines

With the combo of sardine flavor and richness of cheese, this easy dish is super delicious. It's a standard dish in our home!!

Ingredients: 2 servings

Sardines

Tomato
1/2
Onion
1/4
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Garlic
1 clove
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Pepper
a small amount
Salt and pepper ( for seasoning )
to taste
Melting type cheese
to taste
Panko
as needed

Steps

1. Remove the heads and guts from the sardines, (alternatively, ask the fish dealer to do this or buy them already prepped to save time).
2. Put the sardines on a plate and lightly season with salt and pepper. (Season evenly inside the sardines as well.)
3. Combine the minced tomato, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a baking dish and mix.
4. Stuff the sardines with the vegetables. Line the bottom of the dish with a layer of vegetables, then place the sardines on top (as shown in the photo).
5. Top with cheese, then panko, then evenly drizzle the olive oil over the panko.
6. Bake in an oven (no need to preheat) set to 250℃ for 20 minutes and it's done!
