Healthy Pork and Cucumber with Mayonnaise Sauce

This is the 5th in my series of healthy recipes! This time around, we'll be making salad.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Pork (belly or thin slices)
100 g
a small amount
1 tablespoon
Tonkatsu sauce (Japanese-style Worcestershire sauce or steak sauce)
1 tablespoon
Bonito flakes
to taste

1. Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the pork. Once it's cooked through, remove it from the hot water and slice into bite-sized pieces.
2. Rub the cucumber with salt, drain, then slice on the diagonal. Lightly sprinkle with salt, and leave it for 1-2 minutes.
3. Transfer cucumbers and pork to a bowl, and mix with the mayonnaise and tonkatsu sauce.
4. Plate and garnish with bonito flakes.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to make a healthy salad, so I rearranged a recipe to suit my tastes. The crunch from the cucumber is absolutely delicious!
