Steps

1. String through the stems and make a shiitake mushroom curtain. Buy a ton of shiitake mushrooms when they are in season and cheap, and make a bunch of dried shiitake mushrooms.
2. Just dry them out in the sun. Try to keep them in the sunlight as much as possible. The umami-rich flavor will concentrate more.

4. How to enjoy the umami-rich flavor of the dried shiitake mushrooms: Add the soaking liquid from the dried shiitake mushrooms and butter to the frying pan and when the butter has melted add the dried shiitake mushrooms. Sauté the shiitake mushrooms until the liquid is absorbed and drizzle on a bit of soy sauce to finish! They are so yummy!
