Grilled Avocado with Yuzu Pepper Paste

Grilled Avocado with Yuzu Pepper Paste

Yuzu pepper paste adds a spicy kick to grilled avocados. It's great as a drinking appetizer.

"A" Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
"A" Sake
1 tablespoon
"A" Mirin
1 tablespoon
"A" Yuzu pepper paste
1/2 to 1/3 teaspoon
Red chili peppers or shredded chili pepper to garnish (optional)

1. Pit the avocado, peel the skin, cut in half and cut the pieces in half again. Cube into 3 cm thicknesses. Combine the "A" seasoning ingredients.
2. Heat a frying pan with oil. Add the avocado from Step 1. Cook over medium heat while agitating the pan.
3. Once the avocado has browned a little bit, pour in the "A" mixture, and continue cooking over medium heat while continuing to agitate the pan.
4. Once the avocado cubes are coated with the "A" seasoning, it's done!

Story Behind this Recipe

Usually the dish is made with prawns, but I omitted them and just used avocado. I love the texture of cooked avocado.
