Chicken Nanban with Sweet Chili Sauce

I used sweet chili sauce instead of Nanban sauce. Try it with tartar sauce and egg salad.

Ingredients: 1-2 servings

Chicken (thigh or breast)
1 piece
Plain flour
as needed
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Vegetable oil
as needed (use small amount if you are using chicken thigh)
☆Boiled egg
1 medium size
☆Onion (finely chopped)
1/4 of small size
☆Mayonnaise
3 tablespoons
☆Lemon juice
1 teaspoon
☆Salt and pepper
a small amount
Sweet chilli sauce
2 tablespoons

Steps

1. Mix the ☆ ingredients to make tartar sauce (you can make it in your own style).
2. Make cuts on the chicken and butterfly out the thick parts.
3. Lightly sprinkle salt and pepper. Coat with flour evenly.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry chicken.
5. When it's fried, cut into pieces and serve on a plate with chili sauce.
6. It's delicious just as it is.
7. Add a generous amount of tartar sauce on top and it's done!
8. It turned out very juicy with chicken thigh as well.

Story Behind this Recipe

Once I had chicken nanban somewhere that tasted like chili sauce...so I tried to recreate it using chili sauce instead of Nanban sauce.
