as needed (use small amount if you are using chicken thigh)
1 medium size
☆Onion (finely chopped)
1/4 of small size
☆Salt and pepper
a small amount
Sweet chilli sauce
Mix the ☆ ingredients to make tartar sauce (you can make it in your own style).
Make cuts on the chicken and butterfly out the thick parts.
Lightly sprinkle salt and pepper. Coat with flour evenly.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry chicken.
When it's fried, cut into pieces and serve on a plate with chili sauce.
It's delicious just as it is.
Add a generous amount of tartar sauce on top and it's done!
It turned out very juicy with chicken thigh as well.
Story Behind this Recipe
Once I had chicken nanban somewhere that tasted like chili sauce...so I tried to recreate it using chili sauce instead of Nanban sauce.
Fry chicken first over high heat with skin side down until browned. Then flip it over and put a lid on. Fry over low heat to get a better result. I used chicken breast this time. It turned out soft and filling! If you use chicken thigh, it will be juicy and delicious.
