For Bentos: Tamagoyaki With Leftover Sausage

Chop up leftover bits of wiener sausages to make a cute, lightly pink tamagoyaki (rolled omelette)!

Ingredients

Egg
1
Wiener sausage
1/2 sausage
〇 Dashi stock granules
1/2 teaspoon
〇 Salt
a small amount
〇 Katakuriko
1/2 teaspoon
Water
1 tablespoon

Steps

1. Chop up the sausage finely. Add the egg and beat well.
2. Put the ingredients marked 〇 on one side, add the water to dissolve them, then mix it all together.
3. Put a generous amount of oil in a tamagoyaki pan and pour in 1/2 of the egg mixture. Tilt it a bit to the right as shown in the photo.
4. Slide the egg back and forth from left to right to form the tamagoyaki. It will slide easily due to the oil.
5. Press the edges tightly to form the tamagoyaki.
6. Roll up the tamagoyaki. If the sausage distribution becomes uneven, spread the pieces evenly with your chopsticks.
7. Press both sides tightly to clean up the tamagoyaki, and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I didn't want to waste the leftover bits of wiener sausages that you have after making decoratively cut sausages, so I tried rolling them in a tamagoyaki.
