Deconstructed Sushi California Roll Style

My kids and husband love this. It's colorful and perfect for celebrations or for entertaining guests.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Sushi rice
2 rice cooker cups worth (360ml uncooked rice, cooked and flavored)
★Tuna (sashimi)
1 piece
★Salmon (sashimi)
1 piece
★Crab sticks
1 packet
★Boiled shrimp
Finely shredded thin omelet
2 eggs
6 leaves
Shredded nori seaweed
as needed
Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
as needed


1. Make the sushi rice (I'm using sushi powder mix this time). Cut the ★ ingredients into cubes, and finely shred the shiso leaves and nori seaweed.
2. Transfer the sushi rice to your dish. Top with sesame seeds, nori, and mayonnaise.
3. Spread the cubed ★ ingredients on top, and then the shredded omelet and shiso. Done.
4. Eat with wasabi and soy sauce.

Story Behind this Recipe

I modified my favorite California roll into a chirashi-zushi. It's easy as there's no rolling involved.
