Dried wakame seaweed (you can't enjoy the texture with raw seaweed)
Butter or margarine
To spread on the bread
★ Grainy mustard
★ Parmesan cheese
2 grinds (or 2 shakes)
Rehydrate the wakame seaweed in water for about 15 minutes, and cut into easy to eat pieces. Don't skip this step or it will slip out of the sandwich.
Mix the ★ ingredients and the wakame seaweed.
Put the wakame in between 2 slices of buttered bread, and it's done.
Story Behind this Recipe
When I tried using a wakame seaweed salad in a sandwich, it was so good! So, in order to allow for variations, I simplified it to wakame only as a sandwich filling. It also goes well with corn, ham, cheese, chicken, etc...
Please adjust the amount of mayonnaise to taste. The grainy mustard accentuates the flavor, but if you don't like the spiciness, please try reducing the amount. Use dried wakame seaweed. The softness of the bread contrasting with the crunchiness of the wakame is irresistible.
