A Yogurt Salad: Tomato and Onion Raita

A salad that lets you enjoy the flavor of plain yogurt. It's delicious on its own, but in my home country of India we serve it with curries.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Tomato (medium)
Onion (medium)
Plain yogurt
200 g
Fresh coriander leaves
1 handful
Salt and pepper
to taste


1. Cut the tomato and onion into 1 cm dice. Raw onion has a harsh flavor, so rinse it quickly in water.
2. Put the cut up tomato and onion in a bowl.
3. Add yogurt.
4. Mix the yogurt, vegetables and salt and pepper together well.
5. Add some finely chopped fresh coriander, and it's done.

We always serve this yogurt raita with Indian style curry. The combination of curry, rice and raita is really great.
