Jako and Daikon Radish Salad (Mentaiko and Mayo Sauce)

Enjoy the salad with creamy piquant salad dressing. It goes well with drinks.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Daikon radish
7 cm
Watercress
5 sticks
Chirimen jako
3 tablespoons
☆ Mentaiko
1 small sac (about 50 g)
☆ Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons
☆ Lemon juice
1 teaspoon
Bonito flakes
as needed

Steps

1. Dry roast the chirimen jako in a skillet and let it cool.
2. Cut the daikon radish into rectangular slices. Combine the ☆ ingredients, salt and pepper and set it aside. Rinse the watercress.
3. Toss the ingredients right before serving. Mix the daikon radish with the mentaiko and mayo dressing. Add the chirimen jako and toss well.
4. Transfer to a serving plate and top with bonito flakes. Serve with watercress on the side.

This is the salad that I eat every time I go to the Izakaya (Japanese pub) I frequent. It's a superb salad that goes well with drinks.
