A Fisherman's Original Recipe: Roughly Flaked Salmon

A Fisherman's Original Recipe: Roughly Flaked Salmon

I don't use a fish grill or a food processor. This is my personal style of preparing flaked salmon in an easy and convenient way!

Salted salmon
half a salmon
2 tablespoons
1 1/2 tablespoons
Sesame seeds
2 tablespoons
Seasoned salt
To taste

1. Cook the salmon in a frying pan, skin side first. Put a lid on and cook over medium heat.
2. When the pan starts to make a crackling sound and the skin is crispy, take it off with chopsticks. Turn the heat down to low.
3. Flake the salmon as you take off the skin.
4. Add the sake and mirin, and flake the salmon with a spatula.
5. Take the bones out. Add the sesame seeds, taste and add salt if needed, and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

We get a ton of salmon in seasonally. This recipe is really handy during those times. Since there's so much salmon to process, I kept cutting corners until I came to this really simple method.
