A Wiener Sausage Koinobori (Flying Carp) for Bento

A Wiener Sausage Koinobori (Flying Carp) for Bento

Another one in my series of decorative wiener sausages for bentos!

Ingredients: 2 carp

Wiener sausage
1

Steps

1. Cut the wiener sausage in half lengthwise.
2. Cut the tail part as shown in the photo.
3. Cut the other end.
4. Make a slanted cut in the surface of the sausage where the gills would be.
5. Make cuts in the surface to make the scales, as shown in the photo.
6. Boil or pan fry the sausage piecees, add black sesame seeds for eyes, and they're done.
7. If you skewer them together with a pick, it looks like a row of koinobori in the wind.

Story Behind this Recipe

This is the third in my sausage series for bento.
