Delicious Cooked over High Heat! Nikujaga (Simmered Meat and Potatoes)

The secret to the taste is the strength of fire! Leftover potatoes will be gone in no time with this recipe !

Ingredients: 4 servings

Thinly siced pork offcuts
200 g
3 to 4
●Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon


1. Peel off the skin of the potatoes and cut into a little bigger than bite size. Soak the potatoes in water for about 5 minutes. Cut the onion into 8 wedges.
2. Heat a pan and pour sesame oil, then add the onions. Use high heat from here to the end! Don't flinch!
3. When the onions have wilted, push to the side of the pan and stir fry the meat in the open space.
4. When the meat color turns, add ● ingredients mixed together and stir fry.
5. Add well drained potatoes and add water enough to cover 2/3 of the potatoes. Then cover with a lid and simmer.
6. When the potatoes are soft, mix all together and evaporate the moisture (Add water if the potatoes are hard.)

My parents prefer nikujaga with with lots of broth so they don't like this, but to be honest, I like mine like this.
