Non-fried! Creamy Cheese Croquettes

Non-fried! Creamy Cheese Croquettes

These are healthy croquettes that aren't fried, but baked in the oven instead. The melting cheese and the creamy taste works beautifully together!

Ingredients: 4 servings

Potatoes (medium)
5 to 6 (450 g when peeled)
Salt and pepper
a pinch each
3 tablespoons
Fresh cream (or milk)
3 tablespoons
Easy melting cheese
as needed
12 tablespoons
● Flour
2 tablespoons
● Water
2 tablespoons
● Egg

1. Peel the potatoes and cut into small pieces. Place in heatproof dish and drizzle with 2 tablespoon water (not listed). Cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 10 minutes in 600 W.
2. Dry-roast the panko in a frying pan over medium heat while mixing constantly with a spatula. When the panko are golden brown, take them out immediately into a bowl and let cool.
3. Mash the potatoes from Step 1 with a masher or spatula while it's hot.
4. Combine salt, pepper, and fresh cream with potatoes from Step 3. ※ See hints and tips if you're only using milk.
5. Divide the potatoes from Step 4 into 4 portions. Form into patties and cover the cheese so it won't leak out when you're frying them.
6. ※Here, I tried making 6 patties.
7. Combine the ● ingredients in a bowl to make coating mixture. Dredge the patties made in Step with the prepared batter then coat thoroughly with panko
8. Bake 15 to 20 minutes in 200℃ oven, and it's done. ※ Bake for 15 to 20 minutes as well when you're using a toaster oven.
