Moist and Rich Ma Lai Gao Steamed Bread

No need for a steamer! Just steam in a frying pan for 10 minutes It's easily prepared with pancake mix. It's rich and delicious.

Ingredients: about 12 pieces

Pancake mix
1 bag (200 g)
Olive oil (or vegetable oil)
50 ml
50 ml
Brown cane sugar
5 tablespoons
Soy sauce
1 teaspoon


1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together. Break up the brown sugar real well and remove hard clumps.
2. Fill aluminum cups 2/3 full with the batter.
3. Put the aluminium cups into a frying pan and add some water. Cover with a lid and steam over high heat for 5 minutes. Then, turn the heat to medium and continue steaming for 5-10 minutes.
4. When a skewer or toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean, it is done.
