Heartwarming Cauliflower and Cabbage Soup

Heartwarming Cauliflower and Cabbage Soup

The secret ingredient, butter, is the key to the rich flavour. This is an easy soup that only requires cutting and simmering in a pot!

Ingredients: 4 bowls

1 (small) or 1/2 (large)
2 slices
Consommé cubes
10 g
Hot water
800 ml
Krazy Salt (optional)
to taste

1. Cut the cauliflower and the cabbage into bite-size pieces. Cut the bacon into 1 cm strips.
2. Add all the ingredients from Step 1 into a pot with boiling water. Add the consommé cubes as well. Sprinkle lightly with Krazy Salt if you have it.
3. Bring to a boil, add butter, and simmer over low heat.
4. I leave the soup in a thermal cooker for 2 hours ~ half a day at my house. If you don't have a thermal cooker, simmer until the vegetables are soft enough according to your taste, and you're done.

Story Behind this Recipe

Just adding consommé was too boring. But then I tried adding butter and it was a big hit…

If you add corn, the soup (which is already sweet from the cabbage) will become sweeter and kids will love it!
