Wine Simmered Beef with Ginger and Brown Sugar

Wine Simmered Beef with Ginger and Brown Sugar

Thinly sliced beef is briefly simmered in red wine for a delicious and quick appetizer. Of course, it's also great with rice or bread.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Thinly sliced beef
about 160 g
Ginger
1 piece
Red wine
100 ml
Brown sugar
20 g
Soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons
Black pepper
a little, to taste
Accompaniments
5 green beans

Steps

1. Put the red wine, brown sugar and soy sauce in a pan and bring to a boil.
2. Thinly slice a piece of ginger. Add the ginger and the beef to the pan, and simmer over high heat for about 30 seconds.
3. Take the beef out of the pan.
4. Simmer the sauce to reduce it.
5. Return the beef to the pan, and simmer until there's just a little sauce left in the pan.
6. Transfer to serving plates and garnish with something green. (Sprinkle on some black pepper to taste.)
