Macrobiotic Brownies for the Allergen-Sensitive

These are macrobiotic brownies that contain all-natural, non-dairy ingredients and are particularly good for those with allergies. They have a simple taste and are filled with dried fruit.

Ingredients

Cake flour
130 g
Cocoa powder
25 g
Baking powder (aluminium-free)
3 g
☆Coconut milk
100 g
☆Soy milk
80 g
☆Maple syrup
40 g
☆ Starch syrup (natural)
10 g
♪Prune (finely chopped)
150 g
♪Shredded coconut
15 g
♪Dried mango (finely chopped)
20 g
Cinnamon powder
as desired
Canola oil
10 g

Steps

1. Mix together the ingredients marked with ☆. Mix in the canola oil and mix until smooth.
2. Sift in the powder ingredients. Mix in the cinnamon powder here if you intend to use it.
3. Add the ingredients marked with ♪ and mix them into the mixture gently.
4. Line a baking tray or brownie tin with parchment paper and pour in the mixture. Tap the tin on the work surface a few times to get rid of any excess air bubbles.
5. Bake for 25-28 minutes in an oven preheated to 170℃.
6. And you're done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I decided to challenge myself to make brownies that contained only dried fruit and no egg or dairy products.
These are simply flavoured brownies that are great for people with allergies.
