Authentic Turkish Flavor - Fried Zucchini

Authentic Turkish Flavor - Fried Zucchini

This is a fried zucchini recipe that I learned from my cooking class instructor, who is Turkish. It's a vegetable dish with a delicious fluffy texture.
It is excellent when eaten with yogurt salad.

Ingredients: 2 servings

2 small (200 g)
Shallots (or 1/2 small onion)
White flour
50 g
minced, 1 tablespoon
1/4 teaspoon
a small amount
Cheese (gouda if possible)
50 g
Vegetable oil
as needed

1. Finely chop the zucchini and mince the shallots (or onion). Cut the cheese into 1.5 cm cubes.
2. Place the egg in a bowl and beat. Add the flour, dill, salt, and pepper, and combine. Add the zucchini, onion, and cheese.
3. Heat a large amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the mixture in the pan in circular shapes.
4. Fry on medium heat until browned, then fry the other side.
5. This is perfect with yogurt salad.
6. It's also delicious without cheese. I topped it with balsamic sauce.
7. I substituted half of the zucchini for potatoes. It turned out soft and delicious.
8. These are also perfect as a somewhat light meal.
9. They're also delicious served with some sauce.
10. I tried frying larger sized portions. I ate it with a mango curry sauce and gorgonzola tomato sauce for brunch.
11. If you add some herb paste, it will become a lovely green color with a delicious herb flavor.

Story Behind this Recipe

I modified a recipe that I learned in my cooking class. I added more zucchini.
