Easy Basic Béchamel (White) Sauce in 10 Minutes

You can make this béchamel (white) sauce easily! This is a basic, simple, and foolproof recipe! Use this sauce as a pasta sauce or to cook dishes au gratin!

Ingredients: 2 servings

2 cups (about 300 ml)
Plain flour
3 tablespoons
20 g
Consommé granules or powder
a generous amount
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Bouillon cube (optional)
1 cube


1. Put the flour in a bowl and stir while pouring in the milk in several batches. Be careful not to leave any lumps.
2. Heat the frying pan over high heat and melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, add the mixture from Step 1 and simmer.
3. Stir well while simmering over medium heat. It should look like this in 2-3 minutes.
4. Once the sauce comes to a boil, season with consommé granules, salt & pepper, and a bouillon cube (optional) to taste. Once the consommé granules and the bouillon cube have dissolved and are incorporated into the sauce, it is ready. This sauce is delicious with pasta as well.
