Crispy Outside, Fluffy Inside: Hanpen Nuggets

These are chicken nuggets with hanpen fish cakes. By coating them with katakuriko before frying, these nuggets are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Great as sake appetizers.

Ingredients: 14 pieces

Hanpen
1 large (110 g)
Ground chicken
300 g
Green onions or scallions
45 g - 10 cm of the white part, 20 cm of the green part
Chicken soup stock granules
1 teaspoon
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste
Katakuriko
as needed
Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon

Steps

1. Mash the hanpen into a paste.
2. Add the ground chicken, finely chopped green onion, chicken soup stock granules, salt and pepper to Step 1.
3. Mix all together until sticky.
4. Form into nuggets and coat with katakuriko. Heat oil in a frying pan, fry the nuggets until browned, and they're done.
