Simple Char Siu

This char siu is easy to make by just boiling pork and marinating it in garlic soy sauce. It's tender and delicious.


A block of pork belly
400 g
100 ml
Garlic or ginger
1 clove
Green onion
to taste
Garlic soy sauce
about 3 tablespoons


1. Refer to Recipe ID: 669666 for details on how to boil the pork.
2. Wipe the excess moisture off of the boiled and cooled pork and cut in half. Place into a Tupperware or plastic container and pour in the garlic soy sauce.
3. Let it marinate for 1 day while occasionally flipping it over. Once done, slice thinly and use as a ramen topping.

The idea for this recipe just struck me one day. It also tastes delicious if you marinate julienned cucumbers.
