Simple Apple Madeleines

Simple Apple Madeleines

You can still taste the texture of apple in these sweet, tart and fragrant madeleines. This recipe can be adjusted to make them healthy or rich.

Ingredients: 12 x 5.5 cm

Margarine or butter
100 g (you could mix the two
Sugar (or granulated sugar)
100 g
Cake flour
100 g
Baking powder
2 teaspoons
Lemon juice
As you like
Heavy cream (coffee creamer)
3 packs (for those making healthy madeleines, skip this)
Sugar sticks
1 stick

1. Cut the apple into 1 cm cubes. Lightly mix in the lemon juice and sugar, and then microwave for 2 minutes at 700W.
2. Put the butter in a bowl and melt in the microwave. Mix in the sugar and eggs, and then add heavy cream. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
3. Mix the cake flour and baking powder together, and then sift the mixture. Stir the mixture into the bowl from Step 2, add the apples from Step 1 and mix it all together.
4. Fill the molds to 80% full with the batter and bake in the oven for 17 minutes at 200°C. When you think they're done, stick a toothpick in and if nothing sticks to it, then the madeleines are done!

Story Behind this Recipe

I improved my previous madeleine recipe by adding the winter flavor "apple" and increasing the amount.
