A Family Staple: Japanese Style Dressing

A Family Staple: Japanese Style Dressing

This is a healthy dressing that has less oil than usual. It goes well as with cooked vegetable side dishes (ohitashi) as well as salads.

Ingredients: 1 dressing bottle's worth

6 tablespoons
7 1/2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
6 tablespoons
3 1/2 tablespoons
a small amount
a tiny amount
Onion, red chili pepper, etc.
To taste

1. Combine all the ingredients in the list up to the pepper, and mix well with a whisk!
2. Add a tiny bit of salt! This makes the oil blend better with the other ingredients.
3. This is the basic dressing without any onion and so on added.
4. The dressing on the left has onion in it, and the one on the right has onion and red chili pepper. The onion is finely minced, and the red chili pepper is cut into half lengthwise. You could grate the onion too.

Story Behind this Recipe

I once had to bring some salad dressing for a home economics class when I was in elementary school, and this is the dressing I made. So this is the very first recipe I ever created by myself. This is also the first recipe my friends asked me about too.
