Okara and Kabocha Balls For Bentos

Okara and Kabocha Balls For Bentos

Round and fluffy, these kabocha balls are perfect for bentos. They are easy to make - just steam the ingredients in the microwave, mix, and bake them in the oven.

Ingredients: Around 15

Fresh okara
100 g
Kabocha squash (large)
Cream cheese (I used "kiri")
1 cube
2 teaspoons
a small amount

1. Microwave the okara and kabocha separately. (Steam the kabocha for 3-5 minutes and the okara 2 minutes.)
2. Mash the kabocha while still hot, and combine with the okara. Mix in the cream cheese, ketchup and salt.
3. When the colour is even, roll them into rounds, place them on aluminium foil and bake in the toaster oven.
4. They are done when they turn golden.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had some okara which I wanted to add to my bento, so I came up with this.
