Gingered Lotus Root

Gingered Lotus Root

It's one of my most popular gingered vegetable recipes! I used lotus root this time.
This is super delicious!

Ingredients: 2 servings

Lotus root
about 200 g
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
3 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
Grated ginger
1 tablespoon
Sesame oil
about 1 teaspoon
Water with a small amount of vinegar
as needed

1. Peel the skin, cut into 1 cm thick round slices, and soak in water with a small amount of vinegar.
2. Heat a frying pan, and pour in the sesame oil. Wipe off the excess water off the Step 1 lotus root with paper towels, and add to the pan.
3. When the both sides are browned, add the mixture of soy sauce, mirin, sake, and grated ginger.
4. Cover with a lid, and steam-fry for a little while.
5. Simmer and coat the lotus root with the sauce, and done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to eat a different kind of lotus root dish, so I created this.
This is a variation on the "Gingered Turnips" (Recipe ID: 537189) that everybody likes.
