Crumbled Tofu and Carrot With Sesame

A simple and delicious mixed tofu dish.

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

firm tofu
1 block (about 300 g)
1 medium
shiitake mushrooms
3 to 4
ground sesame seeds
about 3 tablespoons
sesame oil
2 tablespoons
soy sauce
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 pinch


1. Drain the firm tofu, wrap in kitchen paper towels and place on a plate lined with disposable chopsticks as shown in the photo. Microwave for 3 minutes.
2. Finely julienne the carrot.
3. Put the julienned carrot in a plastic bag, microwave for 1 and a half minutes, and empty out into a sieve.
4. Lightly wipe off any dirty from the shiitake mushrooms, sprinkle with a little sake (not listed in the ingredients)and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave for 1 minute, then finely julienne when cooled.
5. Put all the flavoring ingredients - sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, salt - into a bowl and mix to combine.
6. Put the drained tofu from Step 1 into the bowl while crumbling it with your hands.
7. Add the lightly squeezed carrot and the julienned shiitake, and mix well.
8. Put in a very generous amount of ground sesame seeds and mix well.
9. Plate, and you're done!
