Crunchy Halloween Cookies (No Cookie Cutter Needed!)

Crunchy Halloween Cookies (No Cookie Cutter Needed!)

I'm looking forward to another delicious Halloween season!
This is a simple cookie recipe - just mix, cut, and bake.

Ingredients: makes about 15 cookies

Kabocha squash
100 g
Cake flour
150 g
Unsalted margarine (or unsalted butter)
100 g
2 tablespoons
Granulated sugar
As desired

1. Combine the room-temperature margarine and sugar, and whisk until it has a white, mayonnaise-like consistency.
2. Add sifted flour and mashed kabocha together and mix. Don't worry if it's still soft and sticky.
3. Wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Wrap to whatever thickness you like. I rolled it in a 5 cm thick log.
4. When it has hardened, sprinkle granulated sugar on top, roll to coat, and cut in about 5 mm slices.
5. Arrange on a baking pan, and reshape the dough.
6. Draw on the faces. This time I used a straw to poke the eyes and mouth, and a toothpick to make the pumpkin lines.
7. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 360F/180C for 15 minutes. Once they're fragrant and crunchy, they're complete.
8. For a bit of fun I made Munch's "The Scream!" This is where the fun is.
